Ric Drasin is an American artist, actor, Internet chat show presenter, director, producer, and writer who was born on July 12, 194In addition, he is a personal trainer, stuntman, former bodybuilder, and former professional wrestler. Both the original Gold’s Gym logo—a cartoon caricature of a bald weightlifter—and the World Gym gorilla logo were created by Drasin. Drasin worked out with Arnold Schwarzenegger for four years at the first Gold’s Gym in Venice, California. Drasin wrestled professionally for 36 years, from 1965 to 2001, while simultaneously competing in amateur bodybuilding competitions. Drasin retired from professional wrestling at the age of 57, although he continues to work as a professional wrestling teacher. He is also a spokesman for Gold’s Gym International and a Specialist Reserve Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
